In December we were shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Alastair Burnett.
Ali and his wife Gillian were very active members since joining the club in 2008. Together they Marshalled many rallies and assisted in marshalling the “49ers” Rally in Brielle.
Ali served on the committee for 3 years and was Membership Secretary for 4 years. He held one of the club marquees, willingly delivering it to rallies and assisting to erect it on the field.
He was never seen without his beard - apart from during the Charity Rally in 2017, where he helped raise money for Dementia UK by having his beard shaved off in public.
Many of us enjoyed the produce from his beloved allotment.
Ali was always the first to lend a hand on and off the rally field and will be very sadly missed.
